Sampling of plant material
Taking the proper plant sample is of crucial importance. Only representative plants (or parts of plants) can provide meaningful analysis results! Sampling should therefore be well prepared and carried out in a professional manner. A direct comparison of plants with and without symptoms from the same or comparable fields / vineyards / orchards is particularly meaningful.
Recommendations for proper sampling:
- Only take clean plant parts without soil adhesion.
- Moment of sampling: at least 3-5 days after the application of foliar fertilizers and pesticides.
- Do not sample after heavy rainfall.
- Only sample the relevant plant organs/parts for each plant species (a PDF list of the optimal sampling periods and the plant organs/parts to be sampled can be found here)
- Take a representative composite sample (e.g. diagonally across the area to be sampled) of approx. 500 g fresh biomass.
- Ideally, vacuum the plant sample or place it in a clean plastic bag and seal it tightly.
- Complete and sign the order form and enclose it with the plant sample.

Assignment form for plant samples
The assignment form for “Plant samples” is used to provide essential information about the samples (up to 5 plant samples can be entered per order form), the desired analysis program and the invoice address. It is therefore important to fill in the form as accurately and completely as possible.
After completing the form, please sign the order form and send it together with the plant samples as quickly as possible (express delivery) to the delivery address below or deliver it to our laboratory in person. Shipping should not exceed 2 to 3 days.
For companies outside Austria that have a VAT identification number (UID number or UStID number) and state this, the invoice will be issued without VAT.
